“How mobile journalists tell big stories with small cameras”
The MOJO Workshop showcases the latest tech, tools, apps and techniques for field reporting with mobile gear. This perennial session always features fresh case studies and best practices of mobile journalism reports and documentaries from around the globe. Literally “from Smartphone to the Silver Screen.”
This mobile journalism workshop will provide you the opportunity to learn from and interact with an experienced U.S. visual journalism professional and explore some of the most pressing topics in the modern world of news reporting with smartphones.
Robb Montgomery is an American mobile journalism expert based in Berlin. He is the author of Smartphone Video Storytelling and Mobile Journalism textbooks and the chair of the Mobile Journalism Awards competition.
His documentary films have been awarded at global film festivals and he trains journalists for CNN, Reuters, MBN. WAN-IFRA, The New York Times, Journalism Co UK, Mediacorp, SPH, Radio Free Europe, Hindustan Times, Channel News Asia, and InterNews.
His certificate courses (hosted by the Smart Film School) are used by journalism schools and media organizations worldwide.
Montgomery is a former editor for the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.
